I recently had the pleasure of capturing some beautiful moments with Isla and her pony, George, at their yard in Dorset. It was such a special session, especially since Isla and her pony George were celebrating their one-year anniversary together! This photoshoot was booked as an early Christmas present for Isla, and what a wonderful way to mark such a meaningful milestone.
When Isla first arrived at the shoot, she was a little nervous—completely normal for anyone, especially when it’s their first time in front of the camera. But Isla quickly relaxed, and it wasn’t long before she truly shone in front of the camera. Her connection with George was heartwarming, and you could see the bond they’ve built over the past year and had loads of fun together over the summer partaking in local Dorset pony club events.
Before the shoot, I had a lovely chat with Isla’s mum about getting her outfit just right (which I think is always a fun part of planning a photoshoot) We talked through some ideas to make sure Isla felt comfortable but also looked her best alongside George. It's always helpful to plan ahead so everything comes together perfectly on the day. Isla’s outfit turned out to be the perfect choice, adding a touch of style while still keeping things relaxed and true to her personality! Isla's lovely mum was on hand during the shoot as the glam squad armed with a trusty DryRobe for Isla to change outfits to make the most of getting different looks for her session.
After a while, we moved along to the heathland behind the yard, where the autumn light cast a gorgeous glow over the scene. The open space allowed Isla and George to really enjoy the session. The natural beauty of the Dorset landscape complemented the session perfectly, giving us a mix of both personal and scenic shots.
